Cassandra Sanchez ’16 has joined Wood Smith Henning & Berman LLP. She will work out of the Hartford office as senior counsel.

Hon. Brandon Freeman ’02, First Justice of the Chicopee District Court, has been appointed to the Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission by the Supreme Judicial Court.

Jerzy Piatkowski ’91 has joined Fenwick & West LLP as counsel in its government contracts & public sector procurement group. He will be based in Fenwick’s Washington, D.C. office.

James Carolan ’89 has joined as senior counsel at Crowell & Moring’s Corporate Group. Carolan has more than 35 years of experience as a lawyer, most recently as a partner at Steptoe LLP.

Alex Tsarkov ’16 was nominated by Governor Ned Lamont and approved by the legislature to join the CT Board of Pardons and Paroles. He most recently served as the Executive Director of the Connecticut Sentencing Commission since 2015.

Kristen S. Bonatz ’04 has been named Appalachian State University’s general counsel and vice chancellor of institutional integrity. She most recently served as deputy general counsel at UNC Greensboro, and has worked at UNC for nearly two decades.

Andrew Fink ’13 has joined Kirkland & Ellis as a partner in the Investment Funds Group where he will focus on venture capital and growth equity funds. Fink was most recently a partner at Gunderson Dettmer. Read more here.
